DOWNERS GROVE – The Cantores Community Choir, an intergenerational non-audition group, will begin rehearsals for its fall season from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Ave., Downers Grove.

Open to anyone high school age and older, the choir preforms a wide variety of music representing many different styles and genres. Some members have been singing all their life and some are finding their voice again after years of not participating in a choir, according to a news release.

The Cantores Community Choir is under the direction of Belford Hernandez, choral and instrumental director of music at Montini Catholic High School in Lombard and the choir and handbell director at Hinsdale United Methodist Church.

The choir will present two "Sounds of the Season" holiday concerts: Dec. 13 at Hinsdale United Methodist Church and Dec. 14 at First United Methodist Church of Downers Grove.
