Benet graduate gets National Merit Scholarship

LISLE – A recent Benet Academy graduate will receive a college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship, according to a news release from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Daniel P. Weithers, a Wheaton resident, has been honored with the National Merit Carleton College Scholarship.

He hopes to pursue a career in social science while attending the Minnesota college.

Weithers is one of about 4,100 students to win a college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship. The awards provide $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the financing institution.
