GLEN ELLYN – The Walmart at 3S100 Route 53 reopened Aug. 13 with an expanded produce section, the company announced in a news release.
Employees held a ribbon cutting to celebrate.
The store employs about 300 full- and part-time associates. About 80 jobs were added as a result of the expansion.
The location now offers produce and groceries, including organic and natural selections. The store will be open 24 hours a day.
“This expansion is something our shoppers have been asking for and we are excited to be able to provide them with a complete shopping option,” said manager Arienne Wyatt. “Our newly expanded store is ready for operation just in time for back to school.”
Walmart also hosted a family welcome celebration Saturday as a reopening party.
