The state championship celebration for Lemont's baseball team continued on Sunday as players and coaches from the team were recognized for their accomplishment prior to the Chicago White Sox game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The team went 35-5 and won the Class 3A title this spring, the first state title for the program. The win in the championship game came in memorable fashion as the Indians rallied for a pair of runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 2-1 victory against Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin.
