CARPENTERSVILLE – District 300 board members recently approved four new administrative hires to fill various positions throughout the Carpentersville-based school district.

Anthony McGinn replaces former district spokesperson Allison Strupeck, who left earlier this summer for a job in Texas.

The new public relations and communication services director previously worked as the marketing coordinator at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, creating a marketing plan that helped earn the library record annual visitors and web traffic, district officials said in a news release.

McGinn also taught high school English and reading for two years at Elgin District U-46 after graduating from Illinois State University. He will earn an annual salary of $83,770 at District 300.

Daniel Palombit will move from dean at Jacobs High School to dean at Dundee-Crown High School. A District 300 graduate, Palombit has spent nine years teaching at various schools in the district.

Palombit previously earned his bachelor's at Northern Illinois University and two master's degrees from Roosevelt University and Aurora University. He will earn an annual salary of $71,274 at Dundee-Crown.

James Herff was selected as the Hampshire High School assistant principal after spending 12 years in District 300. He previously taught social studies and coached wrestling and football at Jacobs High for eight years before working as Jacobs' assistant principal.

He will earn a $81,929 annual salary in his newest administrative role.

Juan Suarz was also selected as the district's Title I coordinator at an annual salary of $81,340. Suarz will oversee the district's Title I plan, a federally-funded program designed to support students from low-income households.
