Cops: Victim robbed at gunpoint in Westmont

WESTMONT – A victim was held up at gunpoint and robbed of about $1,000 late Thursday night, according to the Westmont Police Department.

At about midnight Friday, Westmont police responded to the report of an armed robbery in the 6700 block of Echo Lane, according to Sgt. Stephen Thompson.

The victim alleges that a black male dressed in all black clothing, standing between 5 foot 9 and 5 foot 11, between the age of 20 to 25, with black dreadlocks and a lip piercing, displayed a semi-automatic handgun and stole about $1,000 from the victim, according to Thompson.

The suspect then fled the area on foot, Thompson said.

The victim was not injured during the armed robbery, according to Thompson.

The incident remains under investigation, according to police.
