Cary schedules tobacco violation hearing

CARY – The Cary Smoke Shop at 395 Cary-Algonquin Road, is scheduled this week to respond to an alleged tobacco license violation, according to a village news release.

The Cary Smoke Shop sold tobacco products to a minor on May 28 during a tobacco compliance check, according to the village.

All 13 of the establishments in the village that hold tobacco licenses were checked. The smoke shop was the only one not to pass the check, the village said.

Village President Mark Kownick will hear testimony on Thursday regarding the alleged violation.

The tobacco license violation hearing is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday at Cary Village Hall, at 655 Village Hall Drive.
