Elmhurst to honor World War II veterans

ELMHURST – Honor guard ceremonies will remember two World War II veterans at Elmhurst's Veterans Memorial in Wilder Park.

Joseph Prebil's name will be placed in the Roll of Remembrance at the memorial during a 1 p.m. ceremony Sunday.

Prebil, who died Dec. 13, 2013, received the World War II Victory Medal and the American, European and Middle East Theatre Ribbons during his service in the U.S. Navy.

Daniel A. Santeiu's name will also be placed in the Roll of Remembrance during another ceremony at 1 p.m. Aug. 24 at the memorial.

Santeiu, who died, March 17, received the World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal during his service in the U.S. Army.
