LAKE IN THE HILLS – There are about two weeks until the 2014 Summer Sunset Festival, and the event is in need of more volunteers.

A call out from the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce has indicated volunteers are still needed for a multitude of capacities for the weekend-long event, including positions in carnival wristband sales, over-21 beer bracelet sales, wine tasting events, the kids' tent, and clean-up.

Specifically with regard to the Kids' Korner, volunteers are needed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. At least two people need to cover each block of time.

The chamber also has indicated any business, individual or not-for-profit organization is welcome to volunteer. Volunteers representing a business or organization are encouraged to bring promotional materials and wear their respective logos to the festival.

The festivities commence with food vendors and a beer garden at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, and wrap up after a 9:30 p.m. fireworks show Sunday, Aug. 31. In between, event goers can look forward to carnival rides, wine tasting, a Sunset 5K, music, a kid station, among much more.

The festival will be held at Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Rd. in Lake in the Hills.

Interested parties should contact Elizabeth Wakeman at ewakeman@bgllaw.net. Directions to the park and a schedule of activities can be found on the event's webpage.
