LA GRANGE – The La Grange Police Department is now accepting applications for its fourth annual Citizens Police Academy.

The group will meet for 12 weeks from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Sept. 9. Through the course, citizens will learn about law enforcement. The idea behind the academy is to help strengthen the partnership with the police and community.

Applications are due by Aug. 29 and are available at the La Grange Police Department, 304 W. Burlington Ave., or by visiting www.villageoflagrange.com.

Those interested in applying must be at least 20 years old, live or work in the La Grange area and agree to a background check.
