LA GRANGE – La Grange School District 102 Superintendent Dr. Warren Shillingburg and the Board of Education recently agreed to end Shillingburg's employment after the upcoming school year, according to a news release.

Shillingburg, who began his contract in 2009 and extended it in 2011, will have his final day with the district June 30, 2015.

Since the agreement was made so soon, the board will be able to begin searches for a new superintendent right away, the release stated.

The board's search for Shillingburg's successor will begin at a special meeting Aug. 18, at which time a search firm will be selected to begin the process.

In terms of a timeline, the board is hoping to have a candidate selected by February 2015, who will start as the new superintendent on July 1, 2015.
