Warrenville Citizen's Police Academy accepting applications

WARRENVILLE – Residents may now apply to Warrenville Police Department's Citizen's Police Academy.

The academy is designed to give citizens an opportunity to learn about the varied duties and services of the Warrenville Police Department. The 10-week, once-per-week course will meet from 7 to 10 p.m., September through December at the Warrenville Police Department, 3S245 Warren Ave. A start date is still to be determined.

This free opportunity is open to all adult Warrenville residents or business owners, age 21 or older.

Topics of study will include patrol functions, interview and interrogations, police weaponry, defensive tactics, DUI enforcement, crime scene investigations, K-9 unit, traffic patrol and accident investigations.

Space is limited to 15 applicants. Applications must be received by Sept. 1 and may be found on the Police Administration page at www.warrenville.il.us by clicking on the "I'm interested in the Citizen's Police Academy" application link.
