A fundraiser for Renee Sebek, daughter of longtime Brookfield police officer Richard Sebek, now retired, will be held in September to raise funds to pay for a needed surgery.

Renee Sebek, 42, of Indian Head Park, was diagnosed with neoplasms of the abdomen and intestines. The neoplasms, which are tumors, can rupture and lead to bleeding and death.

To treat them, Sebek will require a surgery costing $9,000 that her insurance will not cover, according to the family.

To raise the needed funds, the family will host a fundraiser at Fat Daddyz, 5437 Center Ave., Summit, at noon on Sept. 6.

Tickets will cost $40, which will include food, beer, pop and entertainment.

Those not able to attend, but wish to donate, can write a check to Life for Renee and send it to P.O. Box 315, Western Springs, IL, 60558.
