Prairie Fest returns to Wood Dale

WOOD DALE – Prairie Fest returns for its 12th year this weekend in Wood Dale's Town Square.

The festivities kicked off Thursday, but the carnival rides, food vendors and bands will be back today, along with many other activities, according to a fest news release.

In addition to food, arts/craft vendors and rides, Prairie Fest will feature plenty of music. Several popular local tribute bands, including 7th Heaven (pop/rock), the Suburban Cowboys (country classics) and Heartache Tonight (Eagles tribute), will perform, the release stated.

There also will be bingo play from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, a fireworks display Saturday night and a performance by Lester the Clown from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the release.

The fest will be from 6 to 11 p.m. today, 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Wood Dale Road and Commercial Street.
