LA GRANGE – The village of La Grange advised residents of the ongoing construction planned for Hazel Avenue, just adjacent to Gordon Park.

The construction – set to be completed by the first week of September – began Monday and will place additional parking at the park's east side for park visitors.

Throughout the construction, Hazel Avenue will remain open with two-way traffic, although some delays are anticipated during the construction hours. In light of the anticipated effect on local and regional traffic, signs will be posted for motorists alerting driver's of the work.

Residents should note that both schedules and construction progress are weather dependent.

The La Grange Police Department will also be enforcing hands-free cell phone operating only while driving and strictly no texting.
