ELMHURST – According to a new Best Colleges for Your Money list released by Money magazine, Elmhurst College is near the top.
Of the 665 four-year U.S. colleges and universities that Money listed, Elmhurst College was No. 166, according to a college news release.
The Money list looked at elements such as average class size, the rate at which students stay in college and graduate, what it will cost to earn a diploma, and the value of that diploma when it comes to landing a job, the release said.
The list price for tuition and fees at Elmhurst College is $32,920, but last year after deducting scholarships, grants and other awards, the average Elmhurst undergraduate paid around 40 percent of the list price, according to the release.
Also, the average debt load for recent Elmhurst graduates is 13 percent less than the national average for private colleges, the release said.
