WOODSTOCK – Additional charges were filed against a man who police say took a Woodstock girl from her home and sexually assaulted her.

Ericsson Julio-Gumesindo, 18, of Woodstock, was charged Wednesday with aggravated criminal sexual assault while in possession of a stolen motor vehicle, a class X felony; criminal sexual assault, a class 1 felony; and residential burglary with the intent of committing an aggravated criminal sexual assault, a class 1 felony.

He had been charged with theft of property worth more than $500, a class 3 felony for the stolen vehicle, the day before.

Julio-Gumesindo is in McHenry County Jail in lieu of bond, which was increased by $500,000 after the additional charges were filed.

Woodstock police were dispatched at 4:35 a.m. Tuesday to the 800 block of Washington Street after the girl was reported missing, according to a news release. The house showed signs of forced entry.

A police investigation concluded that a few people, all males, were over at the house that night drinking and having a party, Police Chief Robert Lowen said. When the father came home, he kicked everyone out.

One of the daughters, a 17-year-old, left with the males, Lowen said. She and two of the boys were dropped off at another location while another two returned to the Washington Street home.

The two entered the home by force and took the other daughter, who is younger but whose age is being withheld to protect her identity, out of the home, Lowen said. She was subsequently sexually assaulted.

"She was intoxicated beyond the ability to consent or to go or not to go," Lowen said.

Julio-Gumesindo was arrested when he arrived at the Washington Street home in a stolen blue Chevrolet Cavalier with the girl, according to the release.

The vehicle was stolen from another address, Lowen said.

The case is still being investigated by a multi-disciplinary team involving the Woodstock Police Department, the McHenry County States Attorney’s Office and the McHenry County Child Advocacy Center.

The other individual who entered the home has also been identified, Lowen said, adding that he is a juvenile.
