Summer Daze to return Friday to Warrenville

Warrenville's annual Summer Daze festival features various activities, including games and races for kids.

WARRENVILLE – Downtown Warrenville will come alive with summer fun at the city's 37th annual Summer Daze festival Friday and Saturday.

The event will feature a car show, live bands, inflatables and games for kids, business and food booths, and a beer tent.

Admission is free for this festival near Butterfield and Batavia roads.

Owners of classic cars, hot rods or other "cool" cars are invited to display their rides at the car show, organized by Countryside Customs, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Registration is $15 and begins at 8 a.m. the day of the show. Awards will be announced at 3:30 p.m.

Food vendors will include Marino’s Kitchen, Genoa Italian Concessions, Tropical Ice, Blue Gorilla Beverage Company, The Tidal Cave and Sonia’s Diner. They will serve food from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and noon to 11 p.m. Saturday.

Business booths will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. Members of the radio station 95.9 The River also will host a booth from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, offering games and giving away prizes.

Inflatables will be available for kids from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Summer Daze is organized by the Warrenville Park District, city of Warrenville and Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce. Sponsors include several local businesses.
