Hospital receives birthing center recognition

Published: Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 2:22 p.m. CST

LA GRANGE – The Natural Birth Center at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital recently received an accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Birth Centers.

The center at the hospital, which provides women with a customized water birthing experience, opened in August 2013 and now is the only center in Illinois with a CABC accreditation.

Designed to give expectant mothers a home-like setting, the hospital’s center consists of two birthing suites, each with a queen-sized bed, rocking chair, hydrotherapy tub, flat-panel television, refrigerator and more.

CABC is the only national accrediting organization that solely measures birthing centers.
