Benedictine to hold National Night Out

LISLE – The Benedictine University Police Department will host a National Night Out event from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday on the school's main campus, 5700 College Road, according to a university news release.

Attendees can view police and fire vehicles and interact with police serving on behalf of Lisle, Woodridge, Lewis University, Brookfield Zoo, DuPage County Sheriff, Illinois State, Illinois Secretary of State, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Illinois Commerce Commission and Drug Enforcement Administration, as well as representatives from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District.

The event will feature a K-9 narcotics detection demonstration, games for kids, free raffles, food, giveaways, appearances by the Chicago Red Stars professional women's soccer team and a performance by the Bagpipes & Drums of the Emerald Society.

The night will conclude with a softball game at 8 p.m. between the Lisle and Benedictine University police and the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District.
