ABOUT: Gurnee Days returns this week for four days with a Little Bit Country, Little Bit Rock 'N' Roll theme. Thursday's activities include bicycle rodeo, Sounds of Summer Concert and a Teen Pool Party. Friday includes a farmer's market, Gurnee Idol, golf tournament, bike rodeo, amusement rides from 5 to 10:30 p.m., and live music. On Saturday, enjoy a golf tournament, 10K race, baby contest, rib fest and eating contest, live entertainment and fireworks. Sunday includes a pancake breakfast, parade, Scoop the Loop Car Show, petting zoo, pony rides and a talent show. Saturday and Sunday, enjoy amusement rides, exhibitors, games, food booths and stage events. 

RALLY BY THE LAKE BIKE AND CAR SHOW

ABOUT: National Night Out is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness; generate support for local anicrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit; and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The event will be held by the Barrington Police Department in conjunction with the Cruise Night car show. Activities will include bike safety checks, kids' fingerprints, drug awareness, face painting, a DJ, games, prizes, food and ice cream. 

LINDENFEST 2014

WHEN: 5:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
