No. 7-ranked UFC featherweight and Johnsburg native Clay Guida lost to Dennis Bermudez (No. 12) via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:57 of part of Round 2 as part of the UFC on Fox 12 main card Saturday at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

Guida (31-15, 11-9 UFC), 32, was coming off a win in April in Abu Dhabi against Tatsuya Kawajiri. Bermudez, now was won seven straight bouts. The two squared off in the UFC's 145-pound division.

"I'm stoked to the max right now," Bermudez (14-3, 7-1) told UFC commentator Joe Rogan in the cage after. "Clay is an awesome fighter, really tough, and he's going to be in the UFC Hall of Fame one day, I'll put a lot of money on it. To beat him is something else."
