Nico and Eva St. Angel of California help put a barn together July 19 "Build a Barn" event at the Westmont Public Library.

Thumbs up to the Westmont Public Library for continuing to offer residents a fun, unique schedule of activities. The library boasts a lineup that includes recurring events such as the "Brunch Bunch" and trivia at the Sweet & Savory spot, one-time activities such as the July 19 Barn Build and enriching activities such like the summer reading clubs. Furthermore, these events are free and a wonderful opportunity to spend time with the whole family.

Thumbs up to Uncle Jon's Music for celebrating it's 10th year in the Westmont business community. Located at 33 N. Cass Ave., the store offers new and used musical instruments, lessons, repairs and rentals. To help commemorate the 10 years, the store owners are hosting a customer appreciation event from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. The day includes hot dogs and other refreshments, live music by local bands and the store owners, T-shirts and other souvenirs, art projects for kids, ukulele circle, horn jam, and sales throughout the store.
