From left: Countryside Chief of Police Joe Ford and Deputy Chief Scott Novak joined Team Gunsmoke at the 2014 Battle of the Burbs baseball game July 20.

The second annual game, held at Crestwood's Standard Bank Stadium, saw teams of suburban area police and fire chiefs battle against area mayors and department members in the great American sport of baseball.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Illinois Special Olympics.
