GENEVA – Geneva District 304 school board this week approved the hiring of three new middle school administrators.
David Norman was hired as assistant principal at Geneva Middle School North, a 12-month position with a salary of $76,000.
A former special education teacher at West Aurora High School, Norman has a master of arts in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University-Chicago and a master of arts in educational leadership from North Central College.
North will begin his new assignment immediately.
Two people also were hired Monday to fill 10-month dean of students positions, both with salaries of $70,000.
Daniel Jones was hired as dean at Geneva Middle School South. He has a master of arts in teaching from National Louis University and a master of arts in educational leadership from Concordia University. Before coming to Geneva, he taught middle school language arts and social studies for five years.
Ashley Weltler was hired as dean at Geneva Middle School North. She has two masters of education, in secondary education from DePaul University and in educational leadership from Concordia University. For the last seven years, she taught high school Spanish.
In a prepared statement, Superintendent Kent Mutchler said the district was eager to have the three new employees serve, particularly "in the newly adopted Illinois teacher evaluation process."
