JOLIET TOWNSHIP – An alleged marijuana dealer is being accused of raping one of his customers Thursday, according to police.

About 11 p.m. a 26-year-old woman reported she'd gone that afternoon to a residence in the 100 block of Anderson Street to buy marijuana from Parnell Samuels, 51, according to Will County Sheriff's spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer.

"During the transaction he attacked her, ripping her clothes off and performing intercourse with her," Hoffmeyer said.

The victim told deputies she struggled against Samuels and was eventually able to leave. She drove herself to a local hospital and notified police after being treated, Hoffmeyer said.

Meanwhile, Samuels also had gone to the hospital to be treated for injuries the victim had inflicted on his groin area, Hoffmeyer said. After the victim was interviewed, deputies questioned Samuels at his residence and arrested him on charges of criminal sexual assault and battery.

Will County jail records indicate Samuels had been arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery in December 2012 and again in January 2014.
