Hinsdale residents set sail Saturday during Chicago Yacht Club Race

HINSDALE – Six Hinsdale residents will be participating in The 106th Chicago Yacht Club Race on Saturday.

Gerald H. and Kathleen J. Thomas will be sailing the Winnebago, Dave Dickerson, John Brofman and Steve Daube will be on the Paradigm Shift, and Dan and Peter Wright will be aboard the Maggie Mae.

They join more than 3,000 sailors who will be participating in the 333 mile race, which begins near Navy Pier.

The race is one of the oldest freshwater sailing races in the world, according to the Chicago Yacht Club Race website. Participation in the 333-mile race from Chicago to Mackinac Island, Mich., is by invitation only.
