WHEATON – The Wheaton Band Festival will return Friday and Saturday to Memorial Park in downtown Wheaton.

Five area community bands will play across the two nights of free concerts. There will also be an instrument petting zoo and other activities.

At 7:15 p.m. Friday, the Chicago Brass Band – an internationally acclaimed, award-winning group – will perform in the style of a traditional British brass band under the direction of Colin Holman. At 8:15 p.m., Swing Low Sweet Cadillac will offer jazzy sounds of swing, Latin and pop.

The music begins again at 6 p.m. Saturday with the Fox Valley Concert Band. The Nite Hawks follow at 7 p.m. with unique arrangements of '50s bebop and music from the Great American Songbook. Finally, at 8 p.m., the 58-year-old, 100-piece Northshore Concert Band will close out the festival.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, a picnic and other comforts both nights.
