BOLINGBROOK – Two Frankfort men were caught inside the Bass Pro in Bolingbrook while trying to steal guns early Tuesday, according to Bolingbrook police.

A burglar alarm led police to the store, 709 N. Janes Ave., around 1:54 a.m. When police arrived, they observed a subject running through the store's lower level before attempting to break out the store's windows then retreating back into the store, police said.

The suspect, identified as Anthony McKee, 25, was then located by a Bolingbrook police K-9 unit hiding inside a storage room, according to police. McKee had to be taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital for treatment after refusing to comply with officers, police said.

The second suspect, Thomas Youngren, 20, was then found hiding in a gray Dodge pick-up truck outside the building and was taken into custody without incident, according to police.

Discarded rifles and shotguns were found scattered throughout the store, and a preliminary investigation indicates the two were there to steal guns, according to Bolingbrook Lt. Mike Rompa.

Both subjects were interviewed, processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Charges are pending for both.
