THUMBS UP: It's good to see the Villa Park Mariners Swim Team continue to grow. The club, which serves ages 5 to 18, has more than tripled in size over the last five years, from about 40 swimmers to 130. Looks like they're doing a lot more than just staying afloat.

THUMBS UP: The bad news is that a recent garage fire in the 500 block of East Park Boulevard in Villa Park caused about $30,000 in damage. The good news is that there were no injuries and four pets, a dog and three cats, were safely removed from the home by Villa Park firefighters.
