Cast members of "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson" rehearse Tuesday at Faith Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elmhurst for their upcoming performance July 18 and 19 at Fitz's Spare Keys.

THUMBS UP: Good luck to DIY Teen Theatre's cast of "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson," a political satire about America's controversial seventh president. While the historical setting of the musical is early 19th century America, the cast will be decked out in post-punk fashions. Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Fitz's Spare Keys in Elmhurst.

THUMBS DOWN: Our thoughts are with the family, friends and countless children whose lives were impacted by Michele Turrise, a 36-year-old Field School kindergarten teacher who died unexpectedly July 2. Her District 205 colleagues talked about the energy and enthusiasm she brought to the classroom every day. No doubt, Turrise, a wife and mother of two young children, will be missed.
