The 12U Downers Grove Fury travel baseball team had a memorable road trip earlier this summer as it traveled to Cooperstown, N.Y., and competed in the Cooperstown Dreams Park National Tournament.

The Fury finished the week-long tournament, which featured 104 teams from across the United States and Canada, with a 3-5 record.

Players on the 12U team that competed at the tournament were: Jack Babich, Owen Dellamaria, Cameron Demos, Robert Gasmen, Eric Goergen, Sam Hoskins, Brian Kirkolis, Brennan Madiar, Devun Pontrelli, James Ruzicka and Luke Schulz. The team was coached by Bill Goergen and assistant coaches Victor Mensavage and James Pontrelli.

Tryouts for the 2015 Fury season start Sunday for 10U, 11U, 12U and 13U teams and run through early August. Tryouts will be held at Gilbert Park (11U, 12U and 13U) and Washington Park (10U) in Downers Grove. The Fury will also field 15U and 16U teams via private tryouts.
