Part of my job as the Director of the Westmont Public Library is to make sure the residents of Westmont know about the services and collections we provide and the incredible value their library card offers them. I can’t possibly squeeze all that we offer into one article, so today I’m going to talk about one of our newest services – the digital branch at westmontlibrary.org/digitalbranch.
The digital branch is an online destination that is available 24/7 and provides access to a large and robust collection of ebooks, eaudiobooks, emagazines and streaming video in a user-friendly format. Additional resources available on the digital branch provide help on everything from auto repair to genealogy to language learning.
In order to showcase these amazing collections and resources, and to help residents with library cards easily navigate the digital content, the talented staff at the Westmont Public Library created the digital branch. It also provides one-click access to academic journals, research tools, and resources for exploration. It is a one-stop shop for all things digital.
We know that providing digital content on our website is just the first step. Our users also need to know how to download and access the content on their personal devices. That is why our librarians put together detailed instructions on how to do just that – download, access and enjoy! You can find this how-to information on the digital branch, and once you visit the site, you will see just how easy it is to download a new emagazine or stream your favorite movie. To make it even easier for people to connect to our digital branch, Westmont cardholders can visit the library and check out an iPad for three weeks.
We hope you will try the digital branch today and enjoy all the library has to offer from the comfort of your home!
