LISLE – A Bloomingdale man was injured and cited after reportedly rear-ending a semi-trailer Monday on Interstate 88 near the Naperville and Lisle border, according to Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Susan Ewald.

The man, who was not identified, but who was born in 1971, was driving a silver Mercedes eastbound in the far right lane when the collision occurred at 11:30 a.m. near Winfield Road, Ewald said.

The driver of the car was transported to Edward Hospital with a minor injury and was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to Ewald.

Lanes on the interstate were partially closed in the late morning and early afternoon after the incident, but were open by late afternoon, Ewald said.
