Berwyn man drowns in Lake Michigan

A Berwyn man who was rescued from Lake Michigan late Thursday evening died Friday morning, according to media reports.

Israel Espinoza, 48, was spotted bobbing 20 to 30 feet from the shore Thursday near Bryn Mawr Avenue and was rescued by the Chicago Fire Department, according to media reports.

He was transported to Weiss Memorial Hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead at 7 a.m. Friday, according to media reports.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office determined drowning to be the cause of death, according to media reports.
