JOLIET – Fire damaged part of a cabinetry shop late Friday.

Battalion Chief Mike Stromberg said the blaze was reported about 11:30 p.m. in a storage area at Glenn Tibble Custom Cabinetry, 1110 E. Washington St.

“No one was present when the fire broke out and crews were able to keep it from extending into the building,” Stromberg said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Stromberg said firefighters spent about an hour-and-a-half making sure the fire was extinguished in the storage area.
