Second arrest made in hotel robbery
BOLINGBROOK – A second man has been charged with robbing two women in a hotel room June 8.
Lt. Mike Rompa said the victims called police at 9:17 p.m. June 8 to the Ramada Inn on South Bolingbrook Drive where they had rented a room. Rompa said the women invited an acquaintance, Cambren K. Powell, 21, to visit, but Powell arrived with another man – later identified as Devontti C. Gilmore, 21, of Bolingbrook – who took out a pistol and demanded money.
The men left after allegedly taking a cellphone and the victims called police.
The victims, a 30-year-old Bolingbrook woman and a 17-year-old Bolingbrook woman, were not injured.
Powell was later found in the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive and identified by the victims, Rompa said. Gilmore remained at-large until Bolingbrook detectives obtained an arrest warrant and arrested him at 8:53 p.m. Tuesday.
Powell was charged with robbery, police said. Gilmore was charged with aggravated robbery and felony theft, police said.
