La Grange Park to return to ComED for electrical supplier

Published: Thursday, July 3, 2014 3:39 p.m. CST

LA GRANGE PARK – After seeking out bids from potential electrical suppliers this past June, the village of La Grange Park has opted to not renew its contract with First Energy Solutions.

While the current contract won't end until September, the village is switching residents back to ComEd beginning in October. Although there is no immediate action for residents to take, come this September, households will receive a letter explaining that residents have 60 days to choose an alternative supplier if they decide to do so.

Residents who stay with ComEd will be required to remain in the contract for a 12-month period.

The La Grange Park Board of Trustees voted to seek out bids for the village's electrical aggregation program during the June 10 Village Board Work Session.

For more information on La Grange Park's current program or questions, contact the village at 708-354-0225, or email erodman@lagrangepark.org.
