ADDISON – A Hanover Park man is being held on $500,000 bond at the DuPage County Jail after allegedly leading police on a car chase Tuesday night through Addison.

Fernando Jimenez, 33, of the 6800 block of Valley View Road, has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated assault of an officer, fleeing and eluding, and aggravated driving while license revoked, according to a DuPage County Sheriff's Office news release.

Jimenez fled from the scene when an Addison police officer tried to pull his car over at about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Street and Neva Avenue.

The officer later relocated the vehicle near Lake Street and Third Avenue, but the driver again fled the scene before crashing near Lake Street and Marcus Drive, police said.

After a brief foot pursuit, Jimenez was taken to the hospital for his injuries, the release stated.

The sheriff's office is investigating the incident, and no further information is available at this time.
