Former Wheaton resident hired as foreign service officer

WHEATON – A former Wheaton resident was one of 24 new Foreign Commercial Services officers sworn in June 20 at the U.S. Department of Commerce, according to a department news release.

Matthew Poole was hired for the International Trade Administration and was sworn in at a public ceremony by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. Poole has previously worked at KPMG in Chicago and is an Army veteran who currently serves in the reserves.

He graduated from Wheaton North High School in 1995.
