BROOKFIELD – The Daughters of the British Empire are celebrating Prince George of Cambridge's first birthday while also collecting items for teen parents.

A birthday tea, hosted by the Daughters of the British Empire House of Windsor Chapter, will take place at 2:30 p.m. July 20 at the Cantata Adult Life and Senior Care services campus. The tea will be in the Wye Valley Apartments dining room at 8700 West 31st St.

Guests should bring an item to donate to the Teen Parent Connection, a nonprofit agency that promotes adolescent parents to be self-sufficient. Young parents can purchase items with "baby bucks," which they earn by participating in support programs and setting goals.

Donations requested include diapers, wipes, safety items, pacifiers, bibs, bottles, Enfamil Gentlease or Soy formula, childrens fever reducer, laundry detergent, adult and baby bath and hygiene products and baby carriers and slings.

Guests may R.S.V.P. by calling 708-485-5663.
