Jenny Maison stands near some of the unique soaps available at her store Blue Beaker in Westmont on June 23. Maison, who's store features a variety of hand crafted products, as well as a selection of teas, lip balms, yarn, and other items, is relocating her business from Ottawa to Westmont.

Thumbs up to Westmont resident Jenny Maison for opening her Blue Beaker store on June 21. After several successful years operating out of an Ottawa storefront, Maison decided to move her business and her family to Westmont. Not only is Maison a local small business owner, but Blue Beaker features a one of a kind selection of soaps and lip balms that she makes herself. We commend your entrepreneurial spirit and wish you the best of luck in your new business venture.

Thumbs up to Westmont resident Barbara Roos for again organizing the annual Angel Haven sale, one of the largest white elephant sales in the village. Held this past weekend at the West Hills Community Church, the Angel Haven sale featured everything from toys to gently used clothes and even furniture. Best of all, the proceeds benefit about 200 marginalized families living in the Appalachian Mountains.
