THUMBS UP: Residents continue to make their voices heard on a passionate topic in Elmhurst. More than two dozen community members attended last week's Elmhurst Park District Board meeting, many pleading for progress on flood mitigation in the city. There's even an online petition calling for action as the city, park district and School District 205 consider a joint plan.

THUMBS UP: On your mark. The Elmhurst Running Club 4 on the 4th celebrates its 10th year Friday in Elmhurst. And proceeds from the 4-mile race also benefit the Elmhurst Children's Assistance Foundation. Good luck to all the runners, and happy Fourth of July.
