Man stabbed near Cook County Forest Preserve

LYONS – A man and a boy had an altercation that ended with one sustaining stab wounds Thursday afternoon near the Cook County Forest Preserve, according to an email from Public Information Officer Frank Shuftan of the Cook County Bureau of Administration. 

During the incident, which took place at Barry Point Road, the juvenile cut the throat of the older man using a sharp object. 

Lyons Police Department officials arrived on scene, alerting the Cook County Forest Preserve Police Department.

The juvenile was taken into custody and transferred to the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department to be processed and charged, Shuftan said in the email.
