Thumbs up, thumbs down for Hinsdale

MS survivor Holly McGinn of Oak Brook participated in the "Bike MS: Tour de Farms" on Saturday in DeKalb to raise support and funds for multiple sclerosis (MS). She biked 35 miles with her team of 23 people.

Thumbs up to Oak Brook resident Holly McGinn for again competing in Bike MS Tour De Farms on Saturday and Sunday. A multiple sclerosis survivor, McGinn has led a team in the last three events. Additionally, she hosts team fundraisers throughout the year, and surpassed her team goal, raising nearly $8,000 before the 2014 event began. Congratulations, Holly, you are an inspiration to your community.

Thumbs up to the Hinsdale Humane Society for hosting another successful children's summer camp. The first session of the summer season boasted record enrollment totals, and the upcoming week-long camp in August has filled up, as well. The camp not only provides an environment for safe, hands on learning experiences and field trips to clinics and hospitals, but campers also learn that all animals have a purpose in the wild.
