CL Central grad Lexi Harkins starts strong in Pennsylvania

Recent Crystal Lake Central graduate Lexi Harkins shot a 3-over-par 75 Monday on the first day of the Women's Western Golf Association National Amateur Championship at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Harkins sits in 23rd place. The top 64 golfers after two days of stroke-play qualifying move on the the championship flight, where match play begins.

Emily McLennan from Queensland, Australia, and Eunice Yi of Evans, Georgia, were the frist-round leaders at 1-under 71.
