Elmhurst and surrounding fire and police departments respond after a man got trapped in a construction truck June 17 on Spring Road near York High School in Elmhurst.

THUMBS UP: Disaster appears to have been averted despite a scary scene last week when a Streamwood man was trapped for nearly two hours under a dump truck on Spring Road near York High School. The man was air lifted to Good Samaritan Hospital, but two days later, Elmhurst Police Chief Michael Ruth believed he already had been released. Here's to a speedy recovery.

THUMBS DOWN: Beware the phone scam. There's always going to be someone out there looking to take advantage of others. Police are warning of recent calls in which people impersonate Internal Revenue Service employees and Elmhurst police officers. Anyone with concerns can contact the Elmhurst police at 630-530-3050.
