Red Cross to host blood drive in Bensenville

Published: Monday, June 23, 2014 12:55 p.m. CDT

BENSENVILLE – The American Red Cross is seeking donors of all blood types, especially type O negative, B negative and A negative.

While the need for blood remains constant during the summer, donations drop. Between June and August, two fewer donors on average give blood at each Red Cross blood drive than what hospitals need, according to the release.

Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, the release stated.

This summer, there are 100 chances to give hope with the Red Cross by giving blood, including one in Bensenville.

People can donate blood between 1 and 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bensenville Village Hall, 12 S. Center St.

Visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS to learn more and make an appointment.
