ADDISON – State Rep. Dennis Reboletti, R-Elmhurst, whose district includes parts of Addison and Wood Dale, has been appointed to serve on a criminal justice reform panel as well as an illegal gun trafficking panel.
Selected by House Republican Leader Jim Durkin, R-Western Springs, Reboletti will serve on the bipartisan Joint Criminal Justice Reform Committee. The committee will examine the impact of the current sentencing structure and develop solutions to address issues that exist within the criminal justice system. In addition, members work to ensure racial, ethnic or minority groups are not disproportionately affected, according to a news release.
Reboletti also will serve on the Illegal Gun Trafficking Task Force, formed in response to illegal guns and gun violence in Illinois, particularly in the city of Chicago, the release stated.
House Resolution 1188 declared an Illegal Gun Trafficking State of Emergency and created the Task Force to develop a comprehensive plan, including legislative proposals, to disrupt the movement of illegal guns in Illinois, according to the release.
