Injuries minor in car and semi-tractor trailer collision

Only minor injuries were reported when a 2003 Honda Civic collided with a Mac semi-tractor trailer on Monday at First Avenue and Ridgewood Road at about 10:49 a.m.

RIVERSIDE – The Riverside Police Department reported that one person was treated for minor injuries following a collision that involved a 2006 Honda Civic and a 2003 Mac semi-tractor trailer at about 10:49 a.m. Monday at First Avenue and Ridgewood Road.

Police reported that all involved in the collision were standing outside their vehicles when the first officer responded at the scene.

Police said that the truck was traveling south when it entered the intersection and the light turned yellow. The driver of the Civic turned turned left in front of the truck and was struck on the rear corner, sending it spinning into the curb.

A 17-year-old was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood for treatment of minor injuries.

On Monday, police said the collision is still under investigation and no citations were issued.
